Mitt Romney’s Tax Returns Don’t Matter
By David Lawrence
When Obama tripped into his office, he promised to improve the economy. Instead he rushed into the bank-busting Affordable Care Act. Then he backed the EPA in all their ludicrous, expensive, sophomoric green energy plans. I can imagine him in the old days in the back of his classroom at Columbia University, stoned on grass, announcing that he wants to raise the price of gas so that citizens can’t afford to travel and pollute the world in their selfish cars. Then I see him going down to Cooper Union to meet with his socialist buddies.
Obama is insisting that Romney reveal his tax returns. In the meantime, Romney isn’t asking to see Obama’s birth certificate, his Social Security number, his college applications, or his embarrassing grades.
Even if Romney cheated his butt off on his tax returns, it wouldn’t make an iota of difference in Obama’s failed economy. Why can’t Obama ever stay on point? Why does he digress from his failed economy and point his finger (a rude habit of his) at Romney for his tax returns – as if that has anything to do with Obama’s failed economy?
Obama inherited Bush’s economic disaster and turned it into an apocalypse. He superlatively turned worse to worst. Look at our current financial team — Obama, a community organizer who made money from a dubious memoir, and Biden, who is too busy bragging about how poor he is to suggest that he might know anything at all about finances or economics. Who in his right mind would rather have an economy run by Obama and Biden than one run by the investment banker Romney and the head of the House Budget Committee, Ryan?
Obama and Biden look like stickball players trying to bat at Yankee Stadium. They don’t belong there. They don’t measure up to their offices. They are the mascots of the failed Democrat team. They are not World Series caliber.
Liz Smith recently said that Romney “has invested millions in foreign tax havens, offshore shell corporations, and a Swiss bank account, and yet he’s still asking the American people to trust him.”
Smith is too stupid to realize that Romney’s skills with manipulating money are exactly what we need and why we should trust him. He didn’t do anything illegal. He played the financial game the way it’s meant to be played.
If Obama had more fiscal skills, we would not be in the terrible position we are in today. We would not have a community organizer wrecking the largest economy in the world. We would not have a socialist who knows nothing about capitalism blindly trying to fix the economy while he ruins it. We would not have an ideologue more interested in philosophy than in pragmatically fixing the economy.
Again, Ryan is the head of the House Budget Committee. Biden is the chairman of gaffes. Obama is a hand in someone else’s pockets. Romney is real change.
Biden is Sancho Panza. Obama is Don Quixote. It’s time we turned the page to Milton Friedman or Reagan. It’s time we got a good read on economic improvement. Instead of Shakespeare, we are led by comic characters in some trashy novel.
